Into the future
Come to the Cambridge Film Festival and see aliens from films like E.T. and Avatar! There are
exciting film workshops for 8 to 16 year-olds. You can learn how to do special effects and make-
up to create your own film alien. Then you can watch your creation on screen.

A very strange world
Alice in Wonderland
is one of the strangest and funniest stories ever. There are talking animals,
the Mad Hatter (a mad hat-maker) and the horrible Queen of Hearts. The Cambridge Touring
Theatre are performing it every evening in the gardens of Wimpole Hall.

Let’s go shopping
Where can you buy CDs and DVDs, cool clothes, mobile phone accessories, jewellery, books
and even second-hand bikes – all in one place? At the Cambridge market on Saturday from
10 am to 4 pm.

Come to the fair!
This Saturday is the famous Strawberry Fair, one of the largest free festivals in Europe! At
11 am there is a parade through the city centre. The fair begins at twelve o’clock when the
parade arrives at Midsummer Common. There are lots of different types of music and there are
also films, a circus, and face-painting! You can buy interesting things at the market stalls, and
you can eat food from all around the world.

And don’t forget the time!
Do you want to know the time? Then you mustn’t miss the fabulous ‘Grasshopper Clock’. It took
seven years and 200 people to make it. Watch the giant insect eat time. It’s scary!
